MANUAL HANDLING

This course has been designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to complete unavoidable manual handling activity in a correct and safe manner. Participants will learn to recognise the risks involved and decide the best way to complete various tasks to avoid injury and keep their back healthy. For employers, training staff in safe manual handling techniques, ensures compliance with Health & Safety legislation and will reduce the risk of injury and working days lost. Manual handling training is also important for agency staff, casual labour and even those on work experience and internships.

It is a requirement of the Health & Safety Authority that Manual Handling Training at workplace level should be delivered by a FETAC/QQI Level 6 Manual Handling Instructor.

Please note that this course is not suitable for work which involves Patient Moving and Handling.
